The Sudan Health Transformation Project Team Distributes 100,000 Bednets to Western Equatoria
The rainy season in Southern Sudan creates formidable logistical challenges to delivering health services to the many remote regions of the country. The rainy season also causes a peak in malaria, as mosquitoes breed in the wet areas. To help protect families in Southern Sudan, the USAID-funded Sudan Health Transformation Project (SHTP), launched a campaign to distribute 100,000 malaria-preventing insecticide-treated bednets in less than one month's time to communities in Mvolo, Wulu, and Tambura, Mundri East and West counties.
This
brief synthesizes best practices in achieving reproductive health and family
planning (RH/FP) goals for the Europe and Eurasia region, and highlights
the role of the private sector in meeting these goals. It is designed for
policymakers, service providers, FP organizations, and other stakeholders
with an interest in developing better public/private collaboration in achieving
RH/FP goals. The report identifies best practices that helped maximize the
quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of RH/FP interventions. JSI Research & Training
